Irrespective of your interest – shopping, art connoisseurs, intellectuals, connoisseurs, you can find value for every penny spent here.
Tips for Shopping in Paris
How do you arrive
Many like to start from the Gare du Nord train station. You can get to the heart of Paris quickly, and at less cost from here.
From Gare du Nord, you can take Métrolinie directly to the George V stop.
From here to the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs-Élysées. You can now start to check all the major designers and brands on the boulevard.
You can shop underground
If you like to take a low key while shopping, the Les Halles department store may be the place for you. It is one of the biggest underground shopping centers in Europe, and you’ll feel like you’re in the US.
You will find different local and international stores to purchase clothing materials, and also restaurants, swimming pools, cinema centers, and other exciting recreational centers.
You can shop like citizens
You can continue shopping in the fresh air on Rue de Rivoli. There are local shops with typical French fashion at normal prices here.
The seemingly long, centrally located shopping street offers you plenty of shops of well-known international brands, but also larger department stores and numerous cafes and restaurants.
The best boulevards in town
Boulevard Haussmann is a large boulevard that runs west to east through the 8th and 9th arrondissements of Paris.
Here you will find the two popular department stores Galeries – Lafayette, and Au-Printemps, but also trendy French shops and boutiques.
Boulevard Montmartre is an extension of Boulevard Haussmann to the east and the most easterly large boulevard in Paris. Stroll to the Musée Grévin, check out the Hard Rock Café, and enjoy the wide range of shops and cafés.
Where you can have a big shop
Brand-conscious fashionistas get their money’s worth on Avenue Montaigne and Rue Du Faubourg Saint-Honoré.
Rue Etienne Marcel is also recommended.
In the trendy Marais district, you can stroll through unusual boutiques on Rue des Francs-Bourgeois.
If you love to shop top designers, you should take Métrolinie 3 to the Bourse stop. Here you come to the Louvre and the Place des Victoires.
Designer boutiques line up here. Bargain hunters are spot-on Rue d’Alésia. You can even find some top designers at a lower price.
Buying from old stores
Le Bon Marché is the city’s oldest department store. It was co-designed by Gustave Eiffel and has been a symbol of luxury and enjoyment of life for over 150 years.
Check through a real Belle Epoque jewel with subtle classical music. You will also find one of the best shoe and fashion departments in town with all the big brands.
The delicatessen department with wine cellar in the neighboring building is also a real experience!
When you’re low on budget
Rue de Rennes is in the south of the city near Montparnasse and the ideal place to shop nice goods if you’re not high on budget.
The street is a real paradise for all real shopping queens. Here, one shop follows the other and you are guaranteed to find what you are looking for either you’re high or low on budget
Find impressive galleries
Paris is the city of artists and intellectuals. Numerous imposing galleries are found here. They not only exhibit and sell but also organize exhibitions that can be visited free of charge. You shouldn’t miss this on your visit to Paris.
Innovative and creative works from wide different verticals such as painting, photography, and installation by young talents and internationally known artists will be shown. Note – Most of the galleries in Paris are closed on Sundays and Mondays.
